About Sabai
Sabai brings the vibrant flavors of the Pacific Rim to Eugene, serving thoughtful, time‑honored Thai dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and a wood‑fire sensibility. Founded by Mon Sutthiwari and the late Tim Murff, Sabai blends Mon’s native Thai culinary traditions with Tim’s eye for warm, inviting design to create a cozy, modern dining room and tranquil patio. Mon continues to carry forward their shared vision—people‑first hospitality, seasonal ingredients, and a place where friends and families gather again and again.
15 Years of Gratitude
Wow! It’s been 15 amazing years since we opened the doors at Sabai. What a wonderful blessing it has been. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect the response we have received over these past 15 years. It’s been such a humbling opportunity and experience to be a part of so many lives
When we started we just hoped to have a place in the community. A place where people could gather around food, drink, family and friendship. Wow! It’s been that and more.
We’ve been blessed to have hundreds of employees work alongside us over the years. Some going to college, some waiting for their big break, and some who have been with us from the beginning—thanks to you all. We could never have done this alone. We’ve had some tears and a boat load of laughs and good times together. You are the heart and soul of Sabai.
Thanks to all the vendors who have supplied Sabai with great products. And on time! Making and serving good food and drinks for our guests begins with you. Thank you for your commitment and partnership
Thanks to Oakway Center. You have made our experience a delight. Since the beginning you have been our biggest fan. Thanks for all you do everyday to make this place beautiful and safe. You’ve created a great place to do business.
And finally. To all our guests who have made us feel like a community. You have made us feel loved. There is nothing better than knowing that you have a place in people’s hearts. It truly is a blessing. It has been the honor of our lives serving you! Each and every one of you is why we do what we do. You are what we love about hospitality. As a side note: Your support through COVID was absolutely amazing. We feel like we did it together.
Sabai means to be well—to be happy. Hopefully we’ve spread some wellness and some happiness to our community.
Much love and gratitude.
